A curious little token, the annual membership card of the H.P. Lovecraft Historical Society is a handsome, perfectly wallet-sized artifact for any devotee of the weird and uncanny. Its arrival awakens that peculiar sensation of having been admitted into an obscure society whose secrets perhaps ought not be known. After six months, I shall doubtless be compelled to upgrade to the Lifetime Membership, lest the dreadful realization of temporary allegiance prove too terrible to contemplate. (I couldn't decide between the folded wallet card or passport style so obviously I will just have to get both.) A most satisfactory possession for those who find comfort in ancient mysteries and things best left lurking beyond the veil.
