This collection was amazing! It's gorgeous and has an amazing box to hold the awesome books inside. The included items from Miskatonic U were a fun addition and the readers guide is a great read as well. I only wish there were more readers guides available for more of the stories as I enjoy reading over the information included on the various stories. Definitely a worthy purchase if you plan to study for the endless nightmare to come.

Great edition of Lovecraft stories

I Love this book! I'm getting a second copy to give to someone I know will love it. They already have every Lovecraft story in print but they don't have this beautiful version!

Fantastic looking set.

Well, this is just great to look at. The colour scheme overall, I suppose afficionados would call it 'the palette' is just great. I pulled this out to show someone, they just said "Wow." someone else saw it, they both wanted it. It's heavy, so postage will hurt if you are abroad, and it did! but what do you expect, books weigh a fair bit, them's the breaks. The Readers Guide I thought was great, which opens the stories up to discussion. The only problem with the stories, is a me problem. I've got to reach for my reading glasses to sit down with the Lovecraft Collected Fiction books. Age has taken its toll with me. Nice artwork, and the image on the box is striking.Happy to have this in the house.

Full of typos

I cannot recommend against this edition enough to anyone who has any care for the fidelity of the text they’re reading. These books are absolutely riddled with typos - I’ve read maybe two dozen stories out of them so far, and more than half contained at least one typo. Many had more than one. I’m a big fan of the HPLHS, but they really missed the mark with this one. Far from being some sort of ultimate omnibus, this is by far the worst edition of Lovecraft’s works I’ve ever read, which is really saying something given the typographical quality of some historical editions!

Simon, thanks for your feedback. We have not discovered any errors so far (nor have any of our other customers reported any), but hope you will email us and identify the typos you've discovered so they could be remedied for future editions. I can say that this edition was prepared using the most current version of text carefully edited by S.T. Joshi, the world's leading textual authority on Lovecraft.
