Full of typos

I cannot recommend against this edition enough to anyone who has any care for the fidelity of the text they’re reading. These books are absolutely riddled with typos - I’ve read maybe two dozen stories out of them so far, and more than half contained at least one typo. Many had more than one. I’m a big fan of the HPLHS, but they really missed the mark with this one. Far from being some sort of ultimate omnibus, this is by far the worst edition of Lovecraft’s works I’ve ever read, which is really saying something given the typographical quality of some historical editions!

Simon, thanks for your feedback. We have not discovered any errors so far (nor have any of our other customers reported any), but hope you will email us and identify the typos you've discovered so they could be remedied for future editions. I can say that this edition was prepared using the most current version of text carefully edited by S.T. Joshi, the world's leading textual authority on Lovecraft.

Beyond Impressive!

I have never seen the consistent attention to detail that our friends at HPLHS lavish on their products anywhere else, but this takes the cake! I was skeptical of whether I “needed” yet another edition of the Complete Lovecraft until, being in California on a visit, I visited the headquarters and was immediately hooked by this set. Let’s just say that, as a member with an “Elder Thing” stamp, everything in it has a delightfully antiquarian feel, and is of the finest quality. The two volumes of works are printed and bound just as one finds in used and rare bookstores, and the Reader’s Guide is exquisite, as well as being very informative - a great companion to Klinger’s annotated volumes. And the accompanying “artifacts” - I mean, who thinks of including a template for lettering one’s own name authentically onto the enclosed Miskatonic Bachelors Degree?? HPLHS, that’s who. I wouldn’t part with it - it is all about the Experience. And thank you Andrew & Sean for the autographs! Dear fellow cultists: snap this up while it’s available!

Breathtaking Collection

I got this as a Christmas gift for a friend and am absolutely blown away by this collection. The book itself is gorgeous but the collection of accompanying items makes this a must have for any HPL fan. I cannot wait to see the look on his face when he opens this and discovers all the wonders within!
