The design and build quality of both the tray case and the volumes inside are up to HPLHS’ normal high standard. The raised image of Cthulhu on the case is most impressive. The readers guide is engaging and very informative. And the Miskatonic artifacts included with the set are also very well done as one would expect. I am very pleased with this purchase.
Is like a choose your own adventure book on steroids. Fun story lines, and you’ll even sometimes hear commentary from the host in the studio when you make an especially off the wall choice. It’s a great time every time!
As many reviewers have written before this is a high quality product. Sound and mix are for the most part top notch, only the sound effects during radio transmissions in the first part of "Mountains of madness" are a little too loud in the mix no matter what setup I use (home as well as car stereo) and some high pitched sounds (i.e. the screeching in "Shadow out of time") are really piercing so listeners may want to adjust volume especially when using headphones. The cast does a great job and even though I'm not a native speaker it's easy to follow the stories since every voice is easily distinguishable and spoken clearly. Except maybe some australian or Massachusets hinterlands accents :-)
The folders are made from sturdy cardboard, all the props I've looked at so far are carefully crafted and really increase the immersion. This collection is a strong recommendation for every Lovecraft afficionado who's looking for a different experience other than reading his stories or watching TV / movie adaptations.
Great audiobook! great story, listened to it on my way to visit Providence and the Shunned House itself, which made the experience all the more interesting and involved!
A really great & faithful adaptation for the first half of the film, the second half is a new section seamlessly crafted into the narrative and makes the whole thing feel like a Chaosium ttrpg scenario brought to life on the silver screen. A really good watch.
