Patch Yourself Up

The HPLHS is pleased to announce the first wave of our new line of cloth patches. Woven to capture greater design detail, the patches are 2.5 – 3 inches across with iron-on backings (though we recommend sewing them in place for long-term use). Our vivid Lovecraftian artwork will spruce up your jacket, book bag, or whatever else you choose to affix them to. Order them individually or get the full set!

The Miskatonic Expedition Set

These patches document three of Miskatonic's most celebrated (if ill-fated) expeditions of all time: the Antarctic Expedition of 1930-31 (2.5 inches diameter), the Australian Expedition of 1935 (3 inches across) and the Tibetan-Leng Expedition of 1926 (2.75-inches diameter). These are artfully designed in a period style to let you display just the right amount of Lovecraftian authenticity. Order them individually or save a couple of bucks and get the whole Expedition Set.

How to save a bad day

I need to time my purchases to coincide with my work days. Please allow me to provide a “backstory “of the fact that I work in a prison. After a particularly bad day that was filled with storm clouds and screams or torment (all in my head), I was greeted on my return home by a package from our friends at HPLHS. With reckless disregard for paper cuts, I ripped open the package! The air filled with the scent of manilla and newsprint and I began to salivate. Wonder of wonders my order had arrived My three patches from the ill-fated Miskatonic University Antarctic Expedition, Tibet Expedition, and Australia Expedition! Fine-crafted artwork with vivid colors. The backing I assumed allowed them to be ironed on but I will have them sewn on. I have ordered a new winter jacket that is fitting to memorize the expeditions. I can hardly wait until I am questioned about my time at university or my adventures in the Antarctic!
I must make more purchases to save myself from the grind that is my life, save me, master!

I collect patches, so this was a no brainer. I love them and am happily going to add them to my Cthulhu collection. I already mounted them on Velcro and they will soon be displayed on my field bag.

Great movie!

This is a great movie, felt like you were watching an old movie from the '30s or '40s, Another great job from HPLHS just like the radio programs. I highly recommend this movie. The only thing that would have made it better is offering the movie in a color version too. Please HPLHS make more movies to!

More meat on the bone

Trust me, I'm a cultist. I love the HPL genre. If you are even here reading this, you could do worse than purchase this useful set if items. If you simply love the stories, the booklet and postcard photos will add to your mental picture. Oh, and the map. If you care about the man himself, then those items (and the map) will help your understanding. If you roleplay and, like me, like characters in depth, with wallets and pockets full of period bits like tourist guides, bus tickets, wallets and so on, this set will help. Oh, and the map, too.
I would buy this set just for the map, and then look at the other bits and celebrate the bonus. But the period map - which appears, much smaller, in "Night Black Deeds" - is a treasure. Maybe for historic, or nostalgic reasons, but some of us, whether planning an RPG or toying with a story idea set in the town, will love the detail of knowing lot numbers and locations of key buildings. I swear, an image search for "Providence 1930" could lead to a whole project, creating "Google Street View 1930", using this map.
To put it more succintly - this set is worth owning. It's fun, and it's fascinating.

Such a wonderful set, I would have loved the pdfs of the modules though.

I bought this set a s a gift for my Dad, he bought the original when he was just a bit younger then me, and I run the game all the time so I thought it'd be a nice surprise. Both of us are just blown away by the quality of everything, there's so much there! Of course I got it along with the props to complete the experience and I highly recommend doing the same if you're considering it.

The only gripe I have is that, since I want my father to keep the box set over at his house for display, I need to buy pdfs of the included campaigns and scenarios as they don't come with this set, that's a bit of a bummer.
