Lovecraft short films

I have all of the available dvds (from 2018-2021) so I’ll cover the reviews for all here in this section, some of these are hit and miss , but overall if you’re a true Lovecraft fan and HPLHS supporter you should check them all out

Best Collection So Far

Just finished watching the Best of 2020 DVD of the HP Lovecraft Film Festival. I think this might be the best collection thus far. While none of the films have become my favorite, I think the quality of the content is the most solid from start to finish out of any of the previous years that I have seen.
While I find all of the works every year to be impressive and respectable, there are often far too many that don’t really hold enough interest for repeated viewings as well as a lot of joke films. Aside from the fun, quirky shirt that kicks off this edition, all of the films are quite serious and creative. The ideas behind the individual films are well put together and the narratives feel complete. Most importantly, they do carry a strong sense of cosmic horror and how it can be seen in various ways.
This is one of the few discs from this annual series that I could easily watch in its entirety again and again. I highly recommend it if you haven’t checked it out yet.
