We wish you a scary solstice!

An Even Scarier Solstice is a sequel to our strangely popular A Very Scary Solstice. This year we've assembled better musicians, more singers, and 21 new songs of holiday horror.

The CD features a cast of more than 30 professional singers with each number beautifully arranged and fully orchestrated by Troy Sterling Nies (composer for the HPLHS film The Call of Cthulhu). Styles range from rockabilly to middle-eastern to grandly gothic and just plain weird. We've even set Lovecraft's poem, "A Brumalian Wish" to music to create (we think) the world's first original Lovecraftian Christmas carol.

Our new and improved sing-along songbook features a handy pronunciation guide, an introduction by celebrated mythos author Ramsey Campbell, and the full lyrics to all of the carols, complete with ample footnotes teeming with bizarre trivia about the carols and their underlying mythos connections! And as if that weren't enough, we've included sheet music for many songs! Get a Choir Pack of four songbooks for the price of three, and go caroling with friends and family!

NOW AVAILABLE AS A DIGITAL DOWNLOAD - We are now offering a digital download of MP3 files of this collection. And, if you order the CD version, we'll throw in a free download too!

A Solstice Tradition

Every year, and I do mean every year, I listen to HPLHS solstice carols in my laboratory between 1st November and the solstice. I finally decided to buy the songbooks and I couldn't be happier. The quality of the book is excellent, the lyrics are dark, and I'm enjoying being able to sing along at last.

A Great Album

I bought this one together with "A Very Scary Solstice" and have now about two hours of Christmas music I really enjoy. I'll definitely be playing the digital downloads for years to come.

Awesome!

I have been hearing these songs for years, and I hardly remember the original lyrics. My wife and I sing them every year. Now that I have the CD, song book and digital download I am delighted.

I got my digital download and love it. It’s fun. The songs are very dark and spiritual in a fun way. I shared it with friends. Highly recommended

I warn you: DO NOT BUY THIS CD!

You can't set H. P. Lovecraft to music. Lovecraft can't be represented by music. Musical notes are insufficiently sophisticated to understand the constructs employed by HPL. Every time you attempt to dignify HPL with song, the unholy child weeps the blood of virgins and Russian hackers pwn your bank account. Experiencing HPL through music summons tainted souls into the realm of the living. If you portray the Old Ones tunefully you are giving in to Them and their blasphemous ways which doom us all to inhuman toil for the One whose Name cannot be expressed in the Basic Multilingual Plane; it will liquify the nerves of the sentient whilst you observe, your psyche withering in the onslaught of horror.
