Every now and then we find a product that's so fantastically great we must have it for our store. For some time we've been following online the progress of this illustrated version of The Call of Cthulhu by the French illustrator François Baranger. His illustrated book is finally done and is, quite simply, spectacular.

We are delighted to share with you this new English edition by Fria Ligan and Design Studio Press. This beautifully bound large format printing features 26 gorgeous paintings from the story. In modern times the image of Cthulhu has been made prosaic through appearances on slippers and cartoons. But here, Baranger's illustrations feed directly from Lovecraft's prose with the effect of making Cthulhu scary again. The scale and intensity in the illustrations are breathtaking.

The book is a large format hardback, 14 x 10.5 inches. The print quality is superlative. Really, if you're into Lovecraftian art, you'll want a copy of this.

Exceptional Artwork in a Classic Work of Horror

What an exceptional way to give greater weight to one of H.P. Lovecraft's notable stories. I initially purchased "The Mountains of Madness" based on Baranger's artwork, then this book. Have just ordered "The Dunwich Horror" asked on Baranger's artand look forward to seeing how Francois Baranger illustrates "The Shadow Over Innsmouth" later this year.
