The Older One

HP Lovecraft did not spring from the void as a new thing, but as the latest in a line of giants among whom Edgar Allan Poe stood above the rest. Poe's macabre imagination and imaginative but precise writing are still inspiring not just readers but other writers as well, and the pair so well presented by Leman and Branney (another fine pair) in this recording are chillingly evocative examples of Poe's art.
