A Call of Cthulhu® Adventure with Props

NOTE: available for PRE-ORDER only. Est. shipping date: July 15, 2026

Following a death in the family, the Investigators are summoned to the old family farm outside of Astoria, Oregon. The circumstances of the death turn out to be strange and the terms of the deceased's will are stranger still. Can family members with diverse agendas work together to uncover a bizarre chapter of their family's history, or will they be destroyed by otherworldly horrors hell-bent on collecting on a old debt?

Eternity at Sea is an original scenario written by the HPLHS' Sean Branney with a fantastic set of props created by Andrew Leman. Set in 1925, the adventure makes extensive use of real history and locations from the Oregon coast to create the most authentic setting possible. Both newcomers to Call of Cthulhu and seasoned veterans will find this story an engaging mystery filled with perilous surprises. This deluxe box set measures 10.25 x 13.25 x 2 inches and weighs about two pounds.

What's Included

  • Prop & Handouts
    • 25 documents, including newspaper clippings, maps, photos, letters, legal documents and much more, crafted with painstaking detail to provide your table with cinema-level props for unparalleled realism and fun.
    • PRE-ORDER BONUS PROP - order before July 1 and we'll include a FREE  bonus prop so over-the-top that we dare not include it in the regular retail version of the game!
  • 3-D Architectural Model Kit
    • Some of the locations in this story relate to each other in an unusual way, and we thought it would be fun to create a model kit to bring the usual gaming floor plans into new, 3-dimensional life. Packed flat for shipping, the Keeper can assemble the models following the instructions with just ordinary tape or white glue. Once you've assembled it (it takes about 30 minutes), you'll be able to depict some game locations for your players in a fun new way.
  • Audio Props
    • 9 audio props, recorded by professional actors to dramatize key NPC interactions during the investigation
  • Game Book
    • A lavishly illustrated 56-page perfect-bound game book with vintage photos and original artwork by Ukrainian illustrator Vladyslav Yurasov
    • Pre-generated characters specially crafted for this story
  • Digital Props
    • Prop Documents are also provided (whenever possible) as Digital Props to facilitate online gaming

FAQ

Q: Is there a digital version for those who play online?

A: There is only one version of Eternity at Sea, However, we have digitized the props that can be digitized, and all those digital props are included with the game. The numerous audio props are especially useful for online gamers.

Q: How long does it take to play through Eternity at Sea?

A: Playtesting has shown that most games want around 6-8 hours of game time. However, it can be played as a one-shot and the game book includes suggestions for accelerated game play.

Q: Can Eternity at Sea be played using Pulp Cthulhu rules?

A: We're not going to stop you if you really want to do it that way, but the game was written with traditional Call of Cthulhu rules in mind.

Q: Could the game be run with a Keeper and just one player for people who don't have a local group?

A: This game is written for a specific group of six pre-generated investigators. It could be played with fewer players, but we'd suggest having your players play all of the intended characters.

Q: Was this package created using AI?

A: No. HPLHS products are created by humans without help from AI. That goes for writing, illustrations, audio, props, and packaging. That's how we roll.

I'm Absolutely Just That Confident

Yesterday I received an email letting me know about the pre-order availability of Eternity at Sea, and instantly responded by ordering it. No hesitation, no qualms, just Pavlovian reaction.

Why? Because I have spent a staggering amount of money on things the HPLHS has created over the years, and I have never once been disappointed. Their craftsmanship is superb, their artistic vision excellent. One time, and one time only, I received an item where the manufacturing had gone slightly awry. Upon receipt of a photo of the blemish in question, I was sent a replacement, and was not required to send the odd one back -- a response few companies will match in today's world, I suspect!

I await delivery of Eternity at Sea with the patience and serenity of one who already knows the outcome, and is perfectly content.
