Call of Cthulhu Combo

I was initially wanting to purchase the Cthulhu DVD but on a whim,decided to go for the package as a means to show support for your unique organization. Had I known of you when I still owned a home in Lost Angeles,I would have surely come to your headquarters to
visit you.Very impressed with the work that went into producing the film.I like the design of the artwork for the movie,and will be having the poster framed to go on the wall.The music soundtrack is quite effective.It enhances the viewing experience in grand dramatic manner.The composers have done a wonderful job on the music; kudos,gentlemen!

I've bought (and given away) this DVD so many times, just to get friends in on it. (poster is VERY nice. I was pleased with the print quality. Very frame-able.)

This is of course the best adaptation of a HPL story that is out there. In the style of a 1920s film. It fits right in along side Nosferatu and Cabinet of Dr Caligari.

Poster is very nice to, mine has been hanging in my HPL themed bathroom for some years now.

Shirt is great, washes well and hasn't faded in 8 years.

Having discovered the HPLHS because of its props and extras, this Combo set was always my preference for the Society’s first foray into film. The movie strikes a fine balance between period filmic features and style (including, for instance, “wear” on the images, and the use of German Expressionist techniques in places), and modern picture-clarity expectations, with an option to have the music in similarly modern clarity, or its “worn” Mythophonic version. Both audio versions are highly recommended, while the quality of the movie is indeed as superb as the many previous reviewers have indicated. The CD offers the chance to concentrate solely on the audio cues, though a full symphonic rendering of the entire collection, purely as a musical narrative, might have been a valuable addition (if one also needing a second CD). Sleeve artwork for CD and DVD provides a near-perfect 1920s movie-art-style rendition of the titular Great C, stunningly rendered in full on the good-quality T-shirt, and most especially on the full-sized, fold-out poster. The latter is truly magnificent. Completing the set are two facsimile “New York Times” period cuttings, regarding a genuine murderous cult active in Louisiana and Texas, which provide a sobering reminder of Lovecraft’s blending of fact with fiction in his writings.
