Play The Spark Devil at the HPLHS

The HPLHS is hosting a two-part Call of Cthulhu game. Join Keeper of the Arcane Lore Peter Johnston as he runs Ennie Award nominated adventure "The Spark Devil" written by the HPLHS' own Sean Branney. Players will get to experience the HPLHS' fantastic prop set designed by Andrew Leman.

Providence, Rhode Island. The year is 1935 and the Great Depression is in full swing. The sudden and inexplicable death of a local electrician catapults Investigators into an inquiry steeped in madness, mystery, and dark powers. Can they bring comfort to a grieving widow, or does the death merely presage greater horrors that await?

Session 1 is Friday Jul 10 at 7pm at  HPLHS Headquarters in Glendale CA. The session should run for around four hours. 

Session 2 is Sunday Jul 12 at 1pm at the HPLHS

Your ticket gets you a seat at both sessions and tasty refreshments too! Seats are limited and reservations are required. Book your ticket now. Players need to be able to commit to attend both sessions to find out how the story ends.

What a treat this game session was!

This was not only my first Call of Cthulhu game session, but my first TTRPG session ever. Keeper Zach was most helpful in guiding us through this experience. Great fun and I hope to repeat the experience.

Looks amazing but always full

This looks amazing but it always fills up so fast! It might be nice to have a lottery so others who want to experience the gameplay at HPLS might have a chance. Thank you!

Leave Those Kids Alone

What could have been a one night adventure turned into 3 full sessions of pure suspense, action, horror and sometimes comedy due to bad die rolls 🤣. This was a highly detailed and high stakes session that surprised me due to the unexpected climax of having to battle a murderous group of supernatural powered kids on bmx bikes, who almost took out a group of seasoned agents! To our awesome Game Master, Peter and our incredible host, Sean, thank you for an awesome Game Night!
