Signaling other HPL NERDS

Most people don’t even notice the various HPL items (Miskatonic University staff parking sticker on my car, the shirt I just bought, the fountain pen I just bought, etc.) but now and again someone will recognize it and we have a little moment.

One of my favorite was purchased outside of this particular store but it is the picture of the iPhone screen when you receive a call from Cthulhu. People are very proud of themselves when they decode what it is and that they know what it means. It’s kind of a fun inside joke.

The Arkham gear picks up a lot of Batman fans but then that leads to a discussion of how much influence HPL had.
