HPLHS member and artist in residence Darrell Tutchton has asked us to help him find a home for his Bowen Cthulhu Idol. While many sculptors have taken on Lovecraft's iconic image of Cthulhu, this is (in our opinion) one of the finest. Sculpted by Stephen Hickman (this really ought to be known as the Hickman Cthulhu Idol, but the name seems to have stuck for Bowen Designs, Inc. who produced it), it is highly sought after by collectors. Google around and you'll see plenty of images of it and plenty of folks seeking one. The sculpture was also featured on the cover of Bren Books Cthulhu The Mythos and other Kindred Horrors by Robert E. Howard.
The casting is in excellent condition and comes in the original box and packaging - the box displays quite a bit of wear but the statue is in excellent condition. It is casting #1896. It is 7.5 inches tall and weighs a little over four pounds. It ships from Savannah, Georgia.
These are very rare and we do not anticipate any more of these will be sold through the HPLHS.
