Spanish artist, Tomás Hijo, has created some of the most extraordinary Lovecraftian artworks we've seen in an age. This collection, published under the title Nictonomicon, consists of twelve large prints (approx. 12x9 inches), one smaller one and one sticker together with an informative bilingual booklet in a portfolio container.
The illustrations are hand made from linoleum blocks and have the look and feel of something old and extraordinary. The twelve plates depict Deep Ones, Great Cthulhu, an Elder Thing and things far worse and less mentionable. A gripping back story of a mad monk illustrating the Necronomicon shows up in the imagery and in the additional materials provided in the booklet. But all you really need to know is that these illustrations are great interpretations of the mythos, executed by a skilled craftsman.
We were able to acquire a small quantity of this limited edition of 250 prints. The prints look great framed and are a fantastic addition to any collection of exotic mythos materials.
